This work runs on language technology I built rather than on a model: a linguistic pipeline that analysed a corpus and left behind data small enough to run in a browser. The lexicon was distilled from a large collection of public-domain art books, so the poem generator speaks in the language used to describe art, applied to whatever it happens to be describing. It carries semantic vectors, syllable tables and classical verse patterns, all computed offline in a pipeline I wrote together with Luca Dini; nothing is fetched at runtime. The poems scan, in iambic and anapaestic measures. The semantic vectors of the words chosen set the palette, the patterns and the flow of the composition. Language chooses first, and the picture follows.
