A space colonisation algorithm branches across the text: fragments of articles, manuals, reviews, conversations, drawn from a corpus used to train large language models. The text is never read or analysed. It is the ground. What grows there resembles a neuron, the metaphor we use for machines that learn, and the thing Ramón y Cajal first drew by hand, in ink and watercolour, on laboratory paper. Who colonises the space of meaning, and by whose permission.
